At Horizon Arts Camp we believe in hiring professional artists who have the artistic skill and experience to ensure that campers are challenged and supported in building both artistic and performance skills. Professional musicians, dancers, actors and artists offer a unique perspective to young people on life and the arts, by sharing their experiences and expertise. They act as role models for campers, demonstrating what it takes to have a career in the arts.

Our program offers campers from Grades 1-5 a chance to experience a variety of arts disciplines including Dance, Theatre, Visual Arts and Music. Our program also offers campers Grades 6-9 a chance to focus their experience by choosing a Major, a Minor and Master Classes in their discipline of choice. Majors, Minors, and Master Classes involve the exploration of a specific theme within a broader arts discipline. For example, major choices have included: music arranging, claymation, acting for T.V. and music video choreography.

3-Week Sessions

Each 3-week Session culminates in an Arts Showcase which includes performances from all campers and a Visual Arts Exhibit. A program of this length gives campers the chance to try new things, learn and develop skills and polish their pieces. This intensive process allows the campers to produce work that they are proud to share at our Arts Showcase.

1-Week Sessions

Each 1-week Session gives campers a taste of all the arts disciplines including dance, music, theatre and visual arts, as well as a balance of traditional camp activities!

Leadership Programs

Our 7 week Leadership Program for grades 9 & 10 includes hands-on workshops in communication, problem-solving, teamwork, game facilitation, public speaking, career preparation and more. In addition to the positive life skill development participants will receive, they will also enjoy hands-on arts training from industry professionals! Participants will major in either music, dance, theatre or visual arts and everyone will showcase their accomplishments at the end of the session Arts Showcase & Gallery Exhibit. Participants also receive mentorship sessions from guest professionals in music, dance, theatre and art, go on behind the scenes field trips to arts venues (such as theatres, TV stations, galleries etc.), and attend a 3-day overnight trip!

Credit Program: Students in grades 9 & 10 can now receive a credit for participating in our leadership program!
